Europeans have a reputation for being lazy in America. After all, if Americans knew that Europeans have as many as SIX WEEKS OF VACATION a year, they’d probably all emigrate to Europe, so I’m not surprised this fact isn’t mentioned in the American news. Today I realized that at the lab I work in here in Sweden, employees have a full hour for lunch PLUS two half hour fika breaks EVERY DAY!!! It amazes me that people get any work done here and I see these breaks as a waste of time after working in a lab where we didn’t feel like a break working ten hours straight while eating lunch on the sly or at your computer.
