Lund University begins studies at Sweden’s First Official Virus Research Centre

HIV, coronavirus and influenza are viruses that have caused global health panic. These viruses can now be studied in-depth in Malmö. Lund University’s Virus Centre (LUVC) has opened its high-security laboratories, making it Sweden’s first research centre fully dedicated to virology.

AI use suspected in Lund University doctoral thesis

Recently, a researcher at Lund University got reprimanded after their doctoral thesis was flagged for AI use. The researcher, who claimed to not have used any AI tools, is allowed to keep the doctoral title despite the conviction for research misconduct.

Vegan university? LUNA first student union to endorse plant-based transition

This year, Lund University ranked first in sustainability in the QS World University Rankings. Plant-based Campus, a student-led organization, has been advocating for plant-based catering and is now building on this opportunity to implement their vision on a university-wide scale. LUNA, the Science Student Union, has recently become the first student union to support this transition, setting a precedent for others to follow suit.
