Studentsången in Lund

- in Nyheter

Under a dark sky and in the rain, Lund’s famous Studentsången gave it their all to welcome Spring.  The famous choir is one of the oldest in Sweden, according to their website (http://www.studentsangarna.nu/main), and the nationally-televised Spring performance has been going on as long as the people I asked can remember.  The choir is all men (stupid tradition but ok, the sound would be different) of about 50 guys, and yesterday they were decked out in black suits and their adorable white high school graduation caps.  I really need to get one so I can further improve my Swedish cultural knowledge.  There were some really old men that were dressed shabbily (or smartly) in rain coats.  They are the old choir members that can sing for only this performance since the songs are the same from year to year!  The concert was amazing and I and some friends from Tornakoren (Torna choir) were proud to see both of our directors near the front.  Now in addition to wanting to pee standing up, I wish I were a guy (and also speak Swedish) also so I might have a chance to join this amazing choir! Thanks for the beautiful performance!
